Mission Statement :
It is the mission of the Pirate Youth Boys Basketball Club to develop skilled and passionate basketball players who conduct themselves with integrity and respect.
It is also the goal of the club to serve the community by providing talented, prepared athletes who will be an asset to the high school program.
PYBBC Philosophy:
The PYBBC is designed to provide a competitive program for boys in grades 4 – 8 and whose skills and knowledge of the game will be enhanced as a result of playing in a challenging atmosphere. The PYBBC will follow an evenly split teams in grades 4 – 6 teams in grades 7 – 8 may follow an A/B team based on coaches decision. The program is open to any boy in grades 4 – 8 who resides in or attends a school within Howard Suamico School District.
Because this is a competitive program, it is not an objective of the club to provide equal participation for each player. Tournament Participation will be determined by the coaches based on a variety of factors including performance, work ethic, and attitude.
In the Club’s effort to prepare players for a successful high school program, the club supports and works directly with Bay Port High School Boys’ Basketball Program and its coaching staff.
The Bay Port Head Boy’s Basketball Coach and Program Director, along with input from the youth coaches, will be responsible for establishing the direction, policy, structure and management of the Club program.
Team SelectionThe head coach and his assistants will determine who will play on which team and when. Every player will receive significant playing time at the tournament he is selected for. The teams should be changed frequently so that players view it as one team. Players will all practice at the same time.
